After a near two month photography hiatus due to a commitment to finishing design school strong, I was rewarded with my final winter break which allowed me to photograph a lot. During any given three week period of freedom I am almost always inclined to go west, and more specifically, to the redwood forests of the northwest. With me this time were Madeline, Sean, and Erin. Neither Madeline or Sean had seen the redwoods so Erin and I were eager to show them, but the four of us experienced a couple of collective "firsts" as well including stops in San Francisco and an unexpected stay in Portland after leaving the forest. Thanks to our first awesome couchsurfer of the trip, Kevin (and his loyal pup Duces), we were able to see a good chunk of San Fransisco in only a day. I could have spent weeks exploring the city, and as always, it was pretty great having three excellent friends to do it with.
